Makeup Artist Level 4 - New Zealand Certificate in Makeup Artistry (Level 4)
The course has theory and practical components. Our training is delivered alongside a Tutor/Makeup artist in a commercial Beauty Space environment (practical) and face to face in the classroom (theory). This is an exciting programme which includes designer Makeup Workshops to extend your creativity and expand your knowledge on from unit standards. This allows for assessment in authentic working conditions.
Optional Extra: Being involved in Regional Barber Battle, Barber Craft, Hairdressing Competitions, Editorial Photographic competitions

NZ Certificate in Artistry (Level 4)
This is a 40 week study programme with Level 3 & 4 Makeup Artistry.
We encourage parents to accompany the prospective student to the interview as the course is very comprehensive and family support is important for students’ success.

- Cosmetic Consultancy
- Fashion makeup and hairstyling
- Wig & hairpiece styling
- Photographic makeup
- Corrective and glamour makeup
- Catwalk and promotions makeup
- Makeup for performing arts
- Film & performing Arts makeup
- Character and period makeup
- Introduction to Special Effects (SFX) and Body Art
We have a fully equipped Beauty Centre that runs commercially for authentic assessment situations. Students nearer the end of the programme will be offered work experience if required.
The costs of training may change per intake and can be quoted when applying.
2019 Course costs $7,800.00
Equipment kits are extra to course costs.
2018 Equipment costs $1,000.00 (note individual equipment lists may be required for each student if you come from another provider)
What you need:
Equipment list is a compulsory component of the course, includes the necessary barbering tools. This can be assisted with through course related costs at Study link.

This primarily focuses on capturing the students enthusiasum, excitement and keeps them focused on attendance & application to learning.
As the director I take it upon myself and use my contacts within the industry to source out part time jobs, or work experience within the Manawatu, and further a field if necessary, for students towards the end of the course. You eilll be a qualified Makeup Artist ready to hit the industry. We have an 95% job success for students completing the programme to date. Hard working students with excellent attendance, attitude and skill will in fact get the best jobs. It’s all about attitude!
We have two Intakes per year with our Graduate Course

Or Intakes can be any time throughout the year on fitting all the necessary entry requirements
The course runs from Tuesday through Friday 9.00am to 4:00pm late night Thursday till 7:30pm (compulsory)
Course holiday breaks are two weeks of the National Primary School holiday. NB: October Holidays all sites only has one week. Plus we have a 5 week Christmas and New Year break.
Students must have successfully completed Level 3 Makeup & Skincare
